Zach gets this years second hit in an otherwise slow year (again?!).
Now tied with Glen, let’s get the rest of the tortoises out of those gates!

Looking to make up for last years slow goings, Glen rips outta the gate within a week of trivia with Hall of Fame catcher, Gary Carter. Way to go Glen. Now everyone is playing catch up.
So who’s next?
Hey all! Finally updated the Dead Pool section to reflect this years new picks. Lots of possibilities this year! Aren’t you excited? I’ve also created a new section covering our new annual Trivia Beer Tour. If you have any suggestions for parts of the site, feel free to email me an let me know.
St. Cloud based trivia team, D.O.A., Hole took home not a single thing this weekend except the knowledge they placed 31st place in this weekends college radio trivia marathon – 33 1/3 Trivia Long Play. The group of family and friends have played together as a team for 16 years and plan to continue playing for some time.
While answering or ignoring questions for the entirety of the three day weekend at a new headquarters, it was pretty unanimous that this was one of the funnest years yet. The introduction of the Annual Trivia Beer Tour at Club D.O.A. Hole (the headquarters bar) seems to be the largest contributing factor to the increased good natured humor and a slide in ultra competitiveness that has been known to rear it’s ugly head in the past.
More good news was announced as well as Ethan took home the Dead Pool Traveling Trophy with three hits this year. Undoubtedly a very slow year with only 13 passings spread out over more than 150 living. Ethen receives the hideously adorned pineapple trophy from Ann who still hold the title as “Last Grim Reaper” – someone who scores 5 or more in a single season. Ann snatched this from the original Grim Reaper, Joe, who had 5 hits of his own to win the trophy the year before.
The photo gallery on the website has already been updated and the debut of a Club DOA Hole Youtube channel with some exciting videos shot over the weekend. A new section of website will also contain a wrapup and rundown of the beers included in this years Trivia Tour along with t-shirt artwork!
If you’ve had your 12 beers (and maybe a few more ) you’ll get one of these. Jealous aren’t ya?
Here’s the beer list for this years tour:
Zywiec Ale
New Belgian 1554 Enlightened Black Ale
Guinness (of course)
Founding Fathers Lager
Left Hand Milk Stout
Breckenridge Brewery’s Pandoras Boch
Monty Mython’s Holy Grail ALe
Tyranena: Rocky’s Revenge
Gray’s Busted Knuckle Irish Style Ale
Alaskan Amber
Fallen Angel Sweet Stout
(whatever Zach decides to bring)
and two kegs of Alaskan Amber! We hoo!
Hey all! can ya feel it yet? The anticipation of trivia kick-off? The annual D.O.A. Hole pre-show starts tomorrow at 1:00 at the Boulder Tap House for lunch. This is the old Timberlodge Steakhouse on the corner of Hwy15 and 2nd Ave. S. 40+ beers and 15+ burgers, right up our alley!
After lunch (and maybe a brief nap!) it’s on to the best part of the warm-up, Dead Pool picks! Make sure you have more than just 10 people and your “Lucky, Feel Good” picks as we’re expecting 12-15 people so we’ll be going through roughly 170 names. The good ones go fast! If you’re not able to attend the picking portion, email your list in order of preference to either Becky or myself so we can draft for you. Ann: remember to bring the trophy with ya so we can ceremoniously hand it over the Ethan – maybe he can take it on tour with him next year and take pics!
The Inaugural DOA Hole Trivia Beer Tour: People participating in this exciting event should bring a 12 of their chosen brew (warm!) to put in the cold storage room. I think everyone has their t-shirts accounted for, now we just need to drink the beer for it! Maybe we can post picks of the tracking boards during the contest – we’ll see if we can remember to!
Any questions or don’t know where the new HQ is? Email me!
Later!
